What is the NASA Academy Alumni Association?
The NASA Academy Alumni Association (NAAA) is the official alumni organization of the NASA Academy and Multidisciplinary Aeronautics Research Team Initiative (MARTI) programs. As of 2018, the association includes close to 1000 members across the globe.
Founded in 1997, the mission of the NAAA is to serve the past and present members of the NASA Academy and MARTI programs by promoting communications, fellowship, and an esprit de corps among and between all Alumni. Additionally, the NAAA seeks to provide a mechanism to facilitate alumni participation in programs and projects, both internal and external to the NAAA, that promote NASA and space education, and that communicate the excitement of space exploration and development to the general populace.
Day to day NAAA activities are managed by elected Executive Council (EC) officers. The four EC officers are the President, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President of Program Administration.
Long term goals and visions are defined by the elected Board of Advisors (BoA) who work closely with the EC to direct the growth and future of the organization.
Regional alumni activities in Boston, Houston, Washington DC, and other locations are managed by Regional Directors.
We know the importance of staying connected. NAAA supports and organizes alumni events and meetups including the NAAA Annual Event and regional reunions through the regional chapters.
In addition, we are currently updating an alumni network database so you can stay in touch with your fellow alumni. Stay tuned!
